If you have been scammed or think you have seen a scam, there are many government agencies that you can contact for advice or to make a report. The best agency to connect with depends on where you live and what type of scam is involved.

If you believe that you or any American citizen have-been scammed and the perpetrator is in another country, contact the State Department's Office of Overseas Citizens. Services at 1-888-407-4747 or contact the embassy of that country in Washington, D.C.
